Lost dog helps pizza parlor employee become hero when they team up to find dog’s pawrent, resulting in heartwarming reunion down by the docks, rescuer says: ‘If I lost my dog I would want someone to go out of their way to get him back to me’

Not all rescue and return stories involved desperate trips to the vet to save a dog's life, some, like this one, being in a pizza parlor with an employee and the lost dog just palling around.

A wonderfully wholesome way to set off on an adventure of epic proportions. Well, due to the small town setting of this adventure, perhaps epic is not quite the right word to use, but nonetheless this pupper's return to their pawrent is nothing short of miraculous. For to begin with the pizza parlor employee who found him was certain that the dog came in with a group of diners and as quickly as he came, he would find his way home with his family.

But when that turned out to not be the case things took a turn for the heroic and this pizza store employee who owed the dog nothing leapt into action to bring this darling doggo home to his rightful family. So strap in for a wild ride around small town America where we will come to learn of the story of one of the sweetest, simplest and endearing dog rescue stories.

Well, this is certainly peculiar. As our pizza parlor hero says, it is not uncommon for dogs to join their pawrents while they indulge in a tasty pizza pie. But it seems as though this doggo had not come with a hooman, they had arrived at the pizza parlor all by themselves. Likely drawn in by the enticing promise of a slice of cheesy, doughy heaven that this dog could have smelled from miles away. Which goes a long way to explain the very patient and good behavior, you too would be on your best behavior if your plan was to solicit a slice of pizza from a timid employee for free.

And so these two’s hero journey begins. It is not often that these kind of rescue and return stories start so sweetly and simply. More often than not we are faced with a dog in dire condition who needs to be taken to the vet more than they need a slice of pizza in their mouth. Which is a rather pleasant change of pace from all the doom and gloom these stories usually come with. But it does add a lot of intrigue as to how a doggo in such decent condition would find themselves on their own, lost and a little hungry.
